About Gynecologic Surgery
Many conditions and circumstances can lead to surgery—whether minor, minimally invasive, or traditional—as a final and effective treatment. Some of the most common include:

Hysterectomy

Endometrial Ablation
This minimally invasive technique removes the lining of the uterus (endometrium) to stop heavy bleeding during periods (menorrhagia).
Hysteroscopy
A hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive diagnostic method to further examine the uterus and find causes of abnormal bleeding. Additionally, it can be used to remove polyps, fibroids and adhesions.
Diagnostic Laparoscopy
Exploratory or diagnostic laparoscopy minimally invasive technique to identify intra-abdominal diseases by directly inspecting intra-abdominal organs.
Ovarian Cystectomy
Ovarian cysts that grow rapidly or are over 10 cm in diameter are usually removed either by laparoscopy (minimally invasive) or by open cystectomy, depending on the severity of the case.
Oophorectomy
When one or both of your ovaries are removed, it is called an oophorectomy. It may be performed through a laparoscopic approach, a vaginal approach or a laparotomy.
Salpingectomy
A procedure to remove one or both of your fallopian tubes, a salpingectomy can be laparoscopic to reduce recovery time.
Tubal Ligation
A tubal ligation is a sterilization procedure where the fallopian tubes are tied. Although it is reversible, success rates vary, so it is important to discuss it thoroughly with a healthcare professional.
Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP)
Thanks to LEEP, your healthcare provider can remove abnormal tissue from your cervix and further analyze it.
