Parents holding "boy" and "girl" signs as they wait to know the gender of their baby after using the SneakPeed DNA Test with Lone Tree & Castle Rock

One of the most exciting moments for a lot of parents during pregnancy is finding out the baby’s gender. While some prefer the mystery of not knowing until birth even waiting for that 20 week ultrasound can be too long of a wait.

Today, thanks to advancing technology, parents-to-be can now find out the gender as early as 6 weeks with results in about  48 hours. The Sneak Peek DNA Test allows for a safe gender reveal free of any risks for both mother and child.

What Is a Sneak Peek DNA Test?

If you want to know the sex of your baby as soon as possible, the earliest method that exists right now is through the Sneak Peek DNA test. It’s a quick and easy way to discern the chromosomes your baby has.

Lone Tree & Castle Rock OB/GYN has been offering the Sneak Peek test for several years now with much success. You do not have to be a patient. Simply make a lab appointment and a phlebotomist will draw your blood and send it to Sneak Peak labs for testing.

You will receive a QR code through which you can view your results after only 48 hours, and the company flies the blood samples overnight for review as soon as they are drawn. Lone Tree OBGYN does not have access to the results unless you happen to be a patient who shares the results with us.

The Sneak Peek DNA test can be performed at only six weeks after pregnancy starts, not sooner. There is almost no risk to the mother and baby making it a safe and accurate way to know the genetic makeup of your baby’s gender.

How Does It Work?

As the name suggests, the Sneak Peek DNA test works by checking the composition of DNA in the mother’s blood while pregnant. While we each have our own DNA, during pregnancy a woman’s bloodstream will contain a small amount of DNA from her fetus.

To determine fetal sex, the test checks for the presence of male or Y chromosomes. If none are found, it means that the baby is a girl. And if Y chromosomes are found it means the baby is a boy. The Sneak Peek test has proven to be 99.9% accurate making it extremely reliable.

When and Where Can I Get the Test Done?

Most women are able to take a reliable pregnancy test as early as the first day of their missed period. In order to have a successful Sneak Peek DNA test, you must wait until you are 6 weeks pregnant to allow the baby’s DNA to enter a pregnant mother’s bloodstream. At LoneTree OBGYN & Midwives, you can call for a scheduled lab appointment even if you’re not a patient. Results are emailed to the person who wants to receive the results so the gender is not shared with the office.
